In 2023 the bird made a decision to close their retail store and focus on education. SPEAKEASY grew from Alyse's passion for birding and nature. he SPEAKEASY started in 2018 when the bird began offering bird and nature talks in their Mount Prospect brick and mortar store. programs were well received and eventually were taken on the road. Garden Clubs, Nature Clubs, Libraries and Senior Communities were interested in learning more about birds and their therapeutic value, especially during the pandemic. As word spread, the demand grew. In 2023, after listening to many of her clients, Alyse added additional programs and workshops to her already growing list. Today, bird offers over 75 different programs from birds and nature to travel and trekking, social media, mindfulness, acting and writing - an imaginative, diverse, and engaging program selection. We will continue to add new enriching programs as the demand grows.
