Have you ever seen a bowl like this? This Silver Maple wooden salad bowl was made from an urban Colorado tree. The bowl had a small branch growing along the side of the bowl, and another small branch that went through the opposite side. The branches left a void that I could have filled with glue or epoxy, but that wouldn't have been as permanent as using real wood. I drilled out the branches and plugged the holes with Walnut and Maple dowels. I used a dark epoxy to glue the dowels in place which also highlights and contrasts with the Maple dowels. The result is a 100% solid wooden bowl that will last for years, and gives a unique look that you'll want to use everyday and especially when entertaining friends and family. The pictures show the bowl from all 4 sides.
The bowl measures 11-5/8" x 3-1/2". This bowl can be used for hot or cold food such as salad, pasta, potatoes, veggies, popcorn, whatever you want. Use it as you would any other bowl.
Finished with multiple coats of Danish Oil for a durable finish that will last. Danish Oil is a blend of Tung Oil and Polyurethane and is much more durable that Walnut Oil or Mineral Oil that others use. Hand wash only, use and care instructions are provided.
