10-1 / 4" Painted Silver Maple Wooden Bowl (B234)

Stunning Silver Maple wooden bowl made from an urban Colorado tree. The outside was shaped but not sanded. The outside is cut smooth but if you look closely you can see some of the tool marks. This was done on purpose to provide contrast and texture with the paint. Speaking of paint, the outside was painted with three different colors of iridescent paint, which give the bowl it's own luminous, faux-finish effect. To some the painting technique reminds them of a tie dye pattern. The inside was left natural and is perfectly smooth. The pictures show the bowl from all 4 sides - don't forget to click on the picture to see an enlarged photo that shows the paint pattern better! The bowl measures 10-1/4" x 3-1/4". This is a nice size bowl for salad, pasta, veggies, popcorn, fruit, etc. The bowl was finished with multiple coats of Danish Oil inside and out to give it a food safe and durable finish. To me quality is not just in how the bowl is made or what type of wood is used, quality also means using the best finish you can if you want your bowl to last and look good for years.
